Pedalers Fork Calabasas

Pedalers Fork was a pretty amazing design challenge of creating an establishment that combined a traditional bar/restaurant with a coffee and bike shop. I had to do design iteration and manufacturing drawings for nearly 100 individual pieces from drip coffee stands, lighting and all on-site furniture.

Much of the inspiration for the furnishing was taken from the late 19th century US westward expansion period where you would find European furniture that was being shipped into the small towns mixed with utilitarian pieces that were being created by local craftsman. The goal was to create a coherent line of furniture and interior elements that combined this mix of refinement and practicality from that unique time in history.

I had to do a series of exterior Photoshop drawings for approval by the city council and computer renderings for the client. There are fun derails throughout the space. Purse hangers under the stools, cabling details to give the appearance of pieces being bound together under tension, inset bowtie keys for details in tables and cast iron feet all make up fun design features throughout.

The loft coffee mixology space has a custom built cantilevering rolling ladder which was a fun mechanical exercise as well.
